We are putting together a system with 32 MB of ram and have run into a problem getting ISC UNIX to recognize the stuff > 16MB. The machine has an EISA bus, so there *should* be no problems with DMA stuff. The EISA bios recognizes the 32MB and checks it successfully. The ISC 2.2 boot finds only 16MB. The interesting part is that we can make 386/ix 2.0.2 recognize the extra memory by changing the settings in /etc/default/boot, but the ISC UNIX product no longer has this file (and a strings of /etc/*boot* and /etc/initprog/* shows that this file is no longer accessed by the boot software). We have had no problems running 2.0.2 in this configuration, so we *should* be able to expect the same for 2.2. So the question is: Is there a way that we can we get 2.2 to recognize the memory > 16MB that 2.0.2 seems to have no problems with? Any and all help via post or email is appreciated. If I do get a solution, I will post it. -- Conor P. Cahill (703)430-9247 Virtual Technologies, Inc., uunet!virtech!cpcahil 46030 Manekin Plaza, Suite 160 Sterling, VA 22170
