I bought the FCC microfiche listings of the licensees on file as of
January/February 1984. It is a tremendous source of information
for those of who listen to scanners; however, it uses a two letter
FCC service code and I do not have the key to the code. The Radio Shack
"Police Call Radio Directory" lists some of these codes, as shown
below:
Code - Meaning
AA
AF
BA - Remote Broadcast Pickup (radio & TV stations)
BF
BS
CA - General Mobile Radio Service
CB - Citizens Band (class D)

IM - Motion Picture Industry
IP - Petroleum Industry
IS - Special Industrial (construction, farming, etc.)
IT - Telephone Maintenance
IW - Power and Water Utilities
IX - Manufacturers
IY - Relay Press (newspaper reporters)
LA - Automotive Emergency (tow trucks)
LJ - Motor Carrier, Trucks
LR - Railroad

MG - Maritime Government (Coast Guard)
MP - Maritime Public Coast (marine telephone)

If anyone on the net knows the meaning of any of the above codes with
blank meanings, or how to get a complete listing of codes and meanings,
please mail me what ever information you have.
Thanks.
