[comp.unix.sysv386] AMI bios settings

Greetings-
This is a question concerning pc hardware and not overly relevent to
this group, I only posted here because this news group has always been the most
helpful and knowledgeable on the net. If you do not care to read it please

Thanks for sticking with me! My question/problem is this: I own a
Pioneer VANTAGE-386SX 20MHz mother board. The utility that comes with it to
set various cmos options (setsx.exe) doesn't allow me to alter the dma speed
or the bus speed. I know that other machines with AMI bios can do this, but
all TFM has to say is "cannont be done with this software, for reasons of
maximum compatibility" So does anyone out there know 1) Will I hose my system
by adjusting these (the few measly boards I have installed I have tested at
higher bus speeds) values, 2) CAN I adjust these values?? 3) OK, assuming 1
and 2, how do I adjust these values?
		Thanks in Advance
		Dave
