Hello Again-
Greetins, I have a couple of questions for you 386ix dudes...
My first question is a repost... Do any of ya'll have any idea
as to how to reprogram AMI BIOS that does not come with EXT SETUP?!?
My second question is a follow up to posting 2461 by Warren Tucker...
In this article the poster states that he has yet to come across, a
[uncopyprotected] program that will not run under dos under unix (I forget
his particular flavor). My question is pretty much the converse... has anyone
got ms windows (sic... dos multitasking... I know) to run (in any mode) as a
unix process? If so, what Unix and what dos under unix sw?
-Thanks in Advance
-Dave

The problems it does have are all mouse related, and will cause random (very) dos crashes. Interactive new about this and said it was fixed in 2.2. Under 2.0.2 you had to have write premissions for VPIX drive c: and install it there, and under 2.2 you can just put it on drive d: -- ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ | Mark Hilliard, N2HHR | AWK is not just a | | Fax 315-986-5882 | LANGUAGE | | mark@gizzmo.kodak.com | It is a way of LIFE! |

MS-windows/286 will run correctly under VP/IX (on ISC UNIX) and from what I understand there is a fix disk for VPIX which allows MS-Windows 3.0 to run. -- Conor P.
