That's not ham radio. > > Sincerely, Dave Okokokokokok, I'm really terribly sorry that you don't like the free, scanner-related information we post. From now on, I PROMISE to try and keep any information I have a SECRET, or post it within AT&T newsgroups only! Please find it within your merciful heart, however, to forgive me if I slip up now and then, and ACCIDENTLY share some information with the rest of the world. And by all means, keep your constructive suggestions coming! I found this exchange most disturbing. What kind of vendetta does Mr. Andersen have against the *scads* of receive-only people running around? Aren't all FCC-licensed frequencies a matter of public record, unless they involve national security? What the hell kind of eletism does having obtained your ticket breed, anyways?? Do you think you are so much better than the rest of the world, just because the Feds have told you that you can legally *transmit* as well as receive? Does it bother you that when you broadcast, other people than your intended audience can hear you? Your attitude is of the type that would make someone *want* to use information heard on a scanner against you if they could. There are some of us who are interested in ham-*related* topics, even though they may not be part of ham radio itself. I am glad that Bob Parnass has not taken this drivel seriously. Just as the rest of you like to get the ARRL bulletins, useful or not, *I* like to get the frequency lists. Bob, perhaps you should just say ''frequencies'' without mentioning the word ''scanner'', because apparently there are many who hate and fear that word. And don't let a few guys with God complexes cause you to falter. _H* [certified scanner jock, and proud of it] -------
