I have a 16 MHz Micronics MB which currently is maxed out at 2MB of memory. Needless to say, my Unix system is kind of sluggish. My hardware is obsolete (already!!!), and I can't seem to find the proper extension board for my 32-bit bus memory card (see my post in misc.wanted for an exact description of what I need). MY QUESTION IS THIS: Does anyone have any experience with putting some kind of memory expansion card in a 16-bit slot to expand beyond the amount of 32-bit slot memory installled? (yes, I realize that using the 16 bit bus would be less efficient than using the 32-bit bus, but I expect that it would be significantly better than nothing). Will Unix work properly on such patch-work hardware? (specifically, Microport System V/386 rev 3 with DOS-MERGE). I am concerned about timing errors and such. Thanks for the help, Orville R.
