I have AT&T UNIX System V/386 (3.2.2) and am attempting to get it to work with an HPLaserjet II with a postscript cartridge. I've tried to configure the printer through FACE but it only lets me select the "HPLaserjet". I know that there is a "ps" and a "postscript" file under the "/usr/lib/terminfo/p" directory - but I am unsure how to set them up, along with the HPLaserjet type of printer. I tried using the "lpadmin" command to specify a printer of type "HPLaserjet" and then use the "-I" command to specify the content type as "postscript". The manuals are *completely* worthless and don't give me any real information. Every time I try to send a file to "lp", the display on the laserjet simply shows the file being loaded (the file size in "K" increases) and then the "form feed" light flashes, and the file never prints. Is there anyone out here who can help me out??? This is driving me nuts........ P.S. Echoing a "showpage" to the printer works, it spits a blank page out, so I assume the postscript cartridge is O.K. Also, the Laserjet prints text just fine under UNIX with the postscript cartridge removed.............. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "I gave you my music, made your song take wing, and now, | Raistlin Majere how you've repaid me...denied me and betrayed me..." | @ - "The Phantom of the Opera"| Tower -----------------------------------------------------------| of Disclaimer: The views expressed above are my own and not | High Sorcery anyone elses. | - -----------------------------------------------------------| Palanthas --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
