I think this `scanner war' is getting a bit out of hand, and you are
missing Dave's (kk9w@pur-ee) point. The question is *not* is the scanner
information worthwile, but does it belong in net.ham-radio. I agree
with Dave that it is not ham related and shouldn't be in this newsgroup.
If you want to share your valuable frequencies for Northern Outer
Slavabobia's Doggie Doo Patrol, by all means that information should
be distributed. However, I think it should have its own net.scanner
to do so. It is *not* amateur radio (even though many hams have scanners,
including myself) and does not belong in this newsgroup.} /* END FLAME */
Now, on to an amateur radio related scanner question. I would like
to know what states have exemptions for amateur radio operators
to carry scanners in their cars and other mobile situations. If you would
mail replies to me I will post the results to the net when I get a
reasonable amount of information. If you have the exact wording of the
law or the state code number, it would be appreciated. For example,
in Indiana, we are exempt from the prohibition of carring
``portable police radios'' by Indiana Code 35-44-3-12 paragraph 6.
