Hi gang. Two notes here. Topic #1 PC+fax; Topic #2 ISC DWB tbl bug. TOPIC #1: I recently purchased a "DAK" PC-Switchboard. This is the CompletePC Complete Communicator. I was nervous about use of the board under DOS as I run UNIX, with VP/IX. This is just to let you know that it works GREAT! The modem port sits in the map, just like an internal modem using com1 or com2 (tty00 or tty01). After registering the memory accesses from the DOS software (for fax and voice) with VP/IX, the sucker came up clean! The 386 20mhz shows no appreciable loss in performance, nor does the board hiccup during normal functions. The fax, voice mail, and file transfers work slick, including using one phone line for uucp, kermit, fax, and taking messages. A company out west has information for accessing the fax direct from Unix, but I haven't got the latest info. alt.sources recently had a completeFax file format converter for C-PC's fax format to pbm, which works well. By the way, the fax format is about 1/2 the size of a sun raster of the same image. If you are looking at new applications, or other experience or questions please feel free to mail at me. See end of post for address. TOPIC #2: I have never been able to get anything out of ISC 2.0.2 DWB's tbl program except a complaint about the "-Tx" option. I'd love to see my tbl working any ideas, or a patch please let me know. Any Imagen users out there? Drop me a line please.
