[comp.unix.sysv386] SVR4.0; can I run it?

odin@jomby.cs.wisc.edu (Odin Anderson) (04/14/91)

I have an optin to get AT&T SVR4.0 at a very good price and would love the
opprotunity to get it up and running. But I'm not sure that my HW is compat-
able. I have a 386sx machine with 3Mb RAM, AMI bios, VGA graphics, and 65Mb
disk drive. I figure that I will have to get some more RAM to make it run
well. If anyone has some advice on the plausability and functionality of this,
I would apreciate your comments.

Thankx in advance!

I wouldnt try running a full SVR4.0 on anything less than 6-8 Mb of RAM and
200 Mb of Disk. A 16 MHz 386sx will do for a two-user system, a 20 MHz one
will have some more mileage.
