Subject: PPRS September Meeting - Revised Notice

The next meeting of the Pacific Packet Radio Society will be held on:

          Tuesday, September 4th, 8:00 pm

             AMPEX Cafeteria
             401 Broadway
             Redwood City, California

On Route 84 at 101 or 280, proceed south on Broadway in Redwood City about
2 to 3 blocks. The cafeteria is glass enclosed and is adjacent to a small
fountain area. It will be on your right as you travel south.

Dave Engle, KE6ZE, is sponsoring this meeting, and is lining up hardware
for a comprehensive review of Terminal Node Controllers (TNC's).

A terminal node controller has proven to be the easiest and most reliable
way to get into packet radio. More and more manufacturers are getting on
the packet radio bandwagon, and are coming out with offerings that support
the AX.25 protocol. This meeting will acquaint you with the TNC offerings
available, and will help you buy a TNC that can walk and chew gum at the
same time. Come and learn about the comparative advantages of each model,
and listen to the war stories of their owners.

In addition, there will be an opportunity to sign up for PPRS working
committees. These committees were described in our August meeting, and
in September we hope to sign up members who will help formulate the role
that PPRS will play in the future of packet radio.

Plus reports on other topics of interest to our members.

Hope you can make the meeting. 73, Hank

P.S. Mark your calendar for these future meetings of the PPRS:
