This posting is a "for sale" posting, but considering the content, is of interest to readers of this newsgroup. Hit 'n' now if you aren't interested. Interactive and Microport offer "trade-in" upgrades on their '386 UNIX products for owners of "other" UNIX'es substantial price reductions on their products. Interactive, for instance, allows a trade-in on any '286 or '386 UNIX from another company on its V.3.2 for, at last word, $690; Microport offers 40% off on either its V.3.2 *OR* V.4 with a trade-in (the latter comes out at just about $700). (Since ISC is coming out with a V.4 in the next couple of weeks, they say, there may be a similar trade in offer from them on that release, but I don't know of it.) I have Microport System V/AT, Release 2.4, which you can have for precious little (make an offer). Once you have it, you can turn around and trade it in for a '386 UNIX as described above and still come out ahead of list price. (Of course, you could also use it: it's the full package--runtime, development, text, with printed doc's.) -- UUCP: {rutgers|ames|uunet}!mimsy!woodb!fallst!tkevans INTERNET: tkevans%fallst@wb3ffv.ampr.org Tim Evans 2201 Brookhaven Ct, Fallston, MD 21047
