Thanks to all of you who replied to my questions. Here is the summary of the answers I got. DOS partition larger than 32M is allowed as long as I do not care to read it under Unix. Every message I got recommened SCO C++ for SCO environments. Some of the replies came from SCO people so it could be biased. But there was no reply from any other makers. No C++ recommendation was made for ISC environment. My question about Oregon C++ was lost in the void. (one person wrote me stating he liked Oregon Pascal.) I have one more question. You can save my neck by informing me of the solution. How do I access PC hardware ports under Unix? Microsoft C or Borland C has outport or something similar to access it. I could not find anything equivalent even after searching ISC C (New C) manual from cover to cover. I would be of great help if someone can tell me what the function name is, or how it is handled in Unix. thank you in advance. I will summmarize the answers if anyone is interested. James Choi
