I requested that they send the free headphones to me, and they said that they would, but there would be a $3.50 shipping charge. (Note that this is larger than the shipping charge for the whole radio reported by the other contributor who bought his from National Tower Co.) I declined that. I happened to have received a catalog from MCM Electronics the other day which offered headphones which I suspect are equivalent to these freebies for $2.25 each wholesale, so asking for $3.50 shipping probably covers both the cost of the headphones and the cost to ship something so weightless. I encourage everyone who bought Uniden CR-2021's before the "free headphone" deal was publicized (the clerk mentioned that it came out Friday night on WRNO) call the 800 number and complain about this after-the-fact additional deal. (That's 800-368-3270) What they should do, to be fair to those who sent in their money (or plastic) before this special was announced, is to go through their invoices and automatically send out headphones to everyone who bought a CR-2021 over the last month, or other suitable time period.
