We installed a Hewlett Packard DAT drive on a HP486 running SCO Unix. On this machine we are trying to read tapes created with the same type of drive from a HP9000/3xx machine running HP-UX. When reading tapes errors and warnings are displayed: Warning: Stp: possible SCSI error Warning: Unit attention: Possible media change - you may need to repeat command This with when reading tapes with either dd, tar or cpio. If read with 'dd' some data is extracted but not correctly, e.g. a tar extraction replies: tar: directory checksum error Is there anyone out there who got this working ?? ================================================================================ _ Date : friday june 21 1991 ( __ __ __ __ Sender: Wim Berkhof \ | / | \ /__\ / ___) | | | | | | \__ tel. : 03420 - 93103 fax. : 03420 - 17799 Baan Service b.v. email: wimb@hp.bssi.nl mail : PO Box 105, 3770 AC Barneveld visit: Baron van Nagellstraat 89 The Netherlands ================================================================================
