at the fcc open agenda meeting on september 26,  a  segment  of
the  amateur  13  cm band was assigned to the aviation services
for flight test telemetry stations.  the fcc adopted  a  report
and order in general docket number 84 186 that will assign 2310
to 2390 mhz to test flight telemetering stations under part  87
of the commissions rules.

part 97 of the amateur radio rules, has not yet been  affected.
however,  this  action  is  one  of  several  in  a  string  of
procedural assaults on continued amateur occupancy of the  2310
to  2390  mhz  segment.   arrl  will  continue  to  oppose  any
elimination of  amateurs  secondary  status  in  this  segment.
