What magical incantations are necessary to get Windows 2.11 and Windows applications programs (Project for Windows and Word in particular) to recognize extended memory available? I'm running Xenix 2.3.3(UFM update), VP/IX 1.2 and have 'device=ems.sys s256' in the config.sys file. Excel for windows recognizes this memory and runs just fine, but Windows, winword, and winproj don't. Winproj sees it there when I do an `About', but complains that I don't have enough memory to run the tutorial. I just want to run a few MS-DOS (The ultimate PC virus) applications. I have no desire to understand the differences between 'extended', 'expanded', or any other kind of kludge to work around 64K segmented architectures. Thanks. -- INTERNET: bill@Celestial.COM Bill Campbell; Celestial Software UUCP: ...!thebes!camco!bill 6641 East Mercer Way uunet!camco!bill Mercer Island, WA 98040; (206) 947-5591
