[net.ham-radio] FCC aux comments

I think the idea of an FCC auxilliary is a good one. After all, hams
are doing the testing now so why not.

However I really wonder how well it would work.

Last year we had a couple jammers on several Northern Illinois
repeaters. We caught one of them, so we have his name and address.
(Stupid jerk had a CB receiver connected to a 2 meter rig and let the
vox kick on the 2 meter rig on our input. This went on continuously
for 2 days). We called the Chicago FCC office and were promised help
from a field engineer, which never happened. I wrote to a Senator, a
Congressman, and the head honcho of the FCC in Washington. So far all
we got is the promise that the FCC will now take the word of a
repeater trustee that a violation has occured (they no longer have to
hear it themselves).

I gess my point is that I have seen no action yet, even though the
name and address of the offendor was given them. The same is true of a
27.5 MHz ssb'er. One I heard was dumb enough to give his address over
the air. I told the FCC about him too, and nothing has been done.

As I see it, funds for the FCC have been cut so badly they don't have
anyone to do enforcement work. What's the solution?
