Once I read some articles that Coherent is not able to read or write diskettes created by other UNIX-Systems, for example SCO, Interactive and so on. I believed that and copied from 386/ix to DOS, from DOS to Coherent. But now I tried cpio and tar on the raw device and it worked perfectly. Now I use cpio to exchange data between my 386/ix and Coherent. When you read with 386/ix Coherent diskettes it's just a little bit slower because Coherent formats the diskettes with a default Interleave of 1 : 6. Therefore: Never trust any articles before you tried it yourself. A lot of fun with Coherent Joachim ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Joachim Riedel joachim@jrix.radig.de Geschwister-Scholl-Strasse 48 D-6050 Offenbach am Main Tel. +49 69 85 62 25 ----------------------------------------------------------------------
