Ok. I need to install tcsh and shar on my account on a MicroVAX II/BSD 4.3. Can anyone tell me where to get them, and would they work? +=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+ | // Joseph Hillenburg, Secretary, Bloomington Amiga Users Group | | \X/ anlhille@ucs.indiana.edu anlhille@iurose.BITNET | | "Have fun folks. According to the FTP directory periodically posted to the net, the patches necessary to build tcsh based on BSD 4.3's csh sources are available from these anonymous ftp sites: irisa.irisa.fr tesla.ee.cornell.edu tut.cis.ohio-state.edu Furthermore, the "archie" archive site indexer (telnet to quiche.cs.mcgill.ca and log in as "archie" with no password) shows a large number of tcsh entries. The version of shar which I prefer is the one written by Rich Salz, available in the comp.sources.unix archives, volume 15, as cshar. Comp.sources.unix archive sites (once again, according to the posted FTP directory) include: cis.ohio-state.edu hydra.helsinki.fi iraun1.ira.uka.de irisa.irisa.fr j.cc.purdue.edu munnari.oz.au schizo.samsung.com slug.pws.bull.com sunic.sunet.se wuarchive.wustl.edu xanth.cs.odu.edu I hope this helps. -- Jonathan Kamens USnail: MIT Project Athena 11 Ashford Terrace jik@Athena.MIT.EDU Allston, MA 02134 Office: 617-253-8085 Home: 617-782-0710
