After attending the "First Saturday Electronics Flea Market" this weekend in Dallas, I am the proud(?) owner of an Onyx Systems C8000 Unix box. I thought the thing was an over-sized 1/4" tape drive at first. I got it mainly to hack around on, but I need to get it working. If anyone has any information about this machine, such as: How do I get my hands on a Tech Ref? How do I make it boot from the tape drive so I can re-install the OS?? What are the functions of the dip switches? What company took over Onyx (so I can call and try to get a Tech Ref)? What is the default baud rate and configuration of the tty ports? ... Anything about this machine I would appreciate anything you know. I got the box for $10, so if I can't make it work, no big deal. But, I plan to have fun trying.
