[net.ham-radio] RTTY and morse decoder wanted

klemets@ttds.UUCP (Anders Klemets) (09/30/84)

I'm looking for some kind of device to connect to my computers RS232C
interface so I can decode RTTY and (or) morse signals from my radio.
Is there anybody who knows something about such things?

We have a copy of a TTY program here for the 820. It does not
handle CW. The person who developed the program for the 820 is now
doing one for the 820-II. I don't know of the status. My associate,
KE5EP may know and will be reading this message. That may result in
updated information. Otherwise, why not look into the Kantronics UTU?
You can use it TTY and CW with any good COMM program that will run on
the 820 or 820-II. I plan to use one as a contest logger/dupe checker
one of these days. Most likely I will write the program over the Xmas
holiday.

This brings up an old interest of mine. Does anyone here know
the frequencies and recieving parameters of UPI and AP and other
news services? I'd like to be able to have my computer read them
in and scan them for stories of interest....
