#R:sask:-10300:pur-ee:4500007:000:673 pur-ee!davy Dec 14 23:08:00 1982 In order to get a knowledgable opinion on the copyright laws, I called a lawyer today and asked him about it. Unfortunately, he said he didn't want to say for sure since he wasn't sure exactly what was involved with the net, etc. It seems that this issue is a lot more complex than it looks. He didn't want to give any advice without my giving him a fee, but he did go so far as to say "I would think it is probably illegal to post copyrighted material. I'll try to find a lawyer who'll tell me for free (I'll be damned if I'm gonna pay him a fee for something I could probably dig out of a book!) and post any info I get. --Dave Curry pur-ee!davy

I recently saw a book by Ashley Brilliant (you know him, he's the guy who writes all those "Pot-Shot's"(tm)). He said that he had great difficulty convincing people that his little, short, funny sayings were truly copyrighted, and finally sued some guy for $15K for putting one on a T-shirt. It can happen! =Spencer
