Connectathon is a networking proving ground for participating vendors
to test their window client and server implementations. In one
convenient location you can link to other vendors' workstations, personal
computers, supercomputers, mainframes and minicomputers, sharing resources
and files over local- and wide-area networks. Each vendor sends its
development engineers, with machines and source code, to test and debug
their implementations.
In addition, there will be seminars with guest speakers addressing
various topics plus an Open House on the last day of testing.
Connectathon this year will feature testing and seminars on X11 servers,
toolkits and PEX. Last year we had over 40 vendors for windows products
alone and this year expect many more.
If your company is interested in participating in Europe or Japan, please
let us know. Your input can help us determine the feasibility of expanding
this event.
The Important Details:
REGISTRATION DEADLINE is JANUARY 15, 1991.
Connectathon will be held at the original San Jose Convention
Center in San Jose, California, March 24-28. Testing will
continue 24 hours a day.
Windows Vendors with questions regarding Connectathon should
contact Linda Cwiak of Sun Microsystems at (415) 336-4717 or
send e-mail to cthon@sun.Com. (Don't reply to me -- I'll be
at the X Conference.)
Open House is March 28, 1991 from 4:00 - 6:00, an excellent
opportunity to promote your company's windows products.
