[net.ham-radio] need equipment or plans for 2M to 6M/220MHz transverters

ndsss@ihuxx.UUCP (Al R. Zantow) (11/01/84)

Currently the ACL repeater club, of which I am a member, has
started to express intrest in getting a 6 Meter repeater on the air
in addition to our 147.585 IN/146.985 OUT and 222.98 IN/224.58 OUT
repeaters. I currently have a ICOM IC-25A and ICOM 2AT, which gives
me plenty of 2M coverage, but no 6M or 220 coverage. What I am looking
for is equipment and/or plans for a transverter to go from 2M to 6M,
and from 2M to 220MHz. This would allow me to use all the features
of the ICOM IC-25A (memory, scaning, ect) on two other bands. I have
wanted to get on 220MHz and 6M, but I do not want to spend megabucks
to do it [I would also like a receiver that covers D.C. to light for
under $200 too :-) ]. I know there are other hardware freaks like me
out there, I think this could be a nice challenge. If I can get plans,
I would like to make a dual band transverter with a 2M input jack and
outputs for 6M, 2M, and 220MHz. Please send me mail, or if you think
this is of general intrest, post it on the net.

followups on transverters, both 2 meter and HF rig transverters, are
indeed of interest to me also. Please either post or send me a
copy. Thanks
