I have a TS-520S which has been a good rig for me, but
there is one thing about it that I have always wondered
about. The carrier level control is scaled from 0 to 10,
but to obtain the correct plate current level, the control
is always set to about 1. Since the useful range of this
control is so limited, it is very touchy. Is this a charac-
teristic of all TS-520S's, or should I look for some problem
with mine? If this is common to all, why design a control
like this?
I have been tempted to make a change in the rig, but it
has performed perfectly since I got it used a year ago. I
would like to be sure there is not some reason the control
is like this before I risk messing up a good thing.
Thanks,
