Bravo, Rick; you reeled in a newbie with one of the most reliable tricks in the RDC Newbie Baiting Manual. The idea, Randall, is that it was GEnie's prohibition. You know: "DDMI? This is GEnie. Allow your rabbit droppings to propagate to our service, and you'll hear from our lawyers." >click< -- Chip, the new t.b answer man wondering when one of randall's personalities will claim to be a lawyer

Since the US became party to the Bern Convention, once a creation is fixed in a tangible medium it is copyrighted on the spot without the constructive notice or registration. It's the opinion of my copyright attorney that things which reside on a hard drive is then considered a tangible medium. One other point to consider is to include a notice to the effect of: " All Rights Reserved ". Meaning the right to reproduce a creation as part of a collection, in a series, exclusive reproduction rights in a certain country for a fixed amount of time etc. Don dsp@polari.UUCP
