The issue that is the main concern of the LPF is that of frivolous but vigorously defended software patents (like controling the sound volume on an Apple II or IBM-PC speaker [aka "pulse-width modulation"], for example). Is this issue within the purview of the EFF? There was an open letter on the topic printed in the March 1991 issue of DEC Professional magazine. ____________________________________________________________________ / | | \ |SMOF-BBS 512-467-7317 PCP=TXAUS |UUCP: crash!pro-smof!shiva | __|__ | |Proline: shiva@pro-smof |"The World's First Online | \_|_/ | |Internet: shiva@pro-smof.cts.com| Science Fiction Convention"| | | \________________________________|____________________________|______/
