Also to comp.graphics.visualization and sci. virtual-worlds for the cross-cultural thing.> Rainbow Family of Loving Light, Food Not Bombs, Seeds of Peace and others were involved in supporting action at Nevada Test Site near Mercury last week. I found the whole experience to be highly symbolic, meaningful, and enjoyable. I met John, a Navajo, and Nathan, an Omaha who were drumming and singing there. There was much common ground and everybody got along great and grew. Although not much is known about dates and such, Rainbow will be in Flagstaff, AZ near Hopi/Navajo res. now until late April for supporting action concerning Hopi/Navajo. There is a gathering in Vermont and a national gathering this summer. Come see a community of like-minded people. Join the computer circle. Grateful Dead is in Las Vegas April 27,28 so if you're going try to see what's happening at the reservation. I can speak some for Food Not Bombs, San Fran., none for Seeds of Peace. I do not speak for Rainbow council, so don't ask. I am very interested in increasing the communication for natives and all peoples. I will try to get some equipment to use UseNET from remote fields where gatherings are usually held. A very good reason for this is to help the people decide where to go next. If I know Anglos are in action against natives I can come there, as can many many people. Since the heat comes down all over the place many people do not have to travel far to make a stand. People feel good to make a stand. Empowerment comes from answering your belief. There is so much many people can't support in this country and this world. Many people are sick from the disempowerment that comes from success and money. Protect your network. This space is a gracious gift. It can be taken and you can be taken for using it. Protect your freedom to use this net however you feel. Protect your right to assemble in the electronic community. And while you do this, protect your rights in the physical community. And when you've done for yourself, do for others. Give freedom and space to others. Let others exercise their rights to speach and assembly. Let others live and eat and be warm, and survive and thrive. Eat first. Look around, and see the injustice. It is easy to find. If you live in a city find out what the people eat. You will find evil and greed in the subsidized shelters and the subsidized kitchens. Look where they sleep. You will find evil and greed in the Chamber of Commerce which says that poor people keep tourists away, so they can't sleep in the park. Take a stand. Be the hope. Andrew Newkirk Rose
