[comp.org.eff.talk] EFF needs library/archive help

mnemonic@eff.org (Mike Godwin) (04/14/91)

Our new Director of Communications, Gerard Van Der Leun, asks
the following:

Information is only powerful if you have ready access to it.
At the EFF office, we have lots of information -- much of it on
disk and in the comp.org.eff groups. This is readily accessible.

However, we are facing a print/tape/and paper glut of major
proportions that grows worse by the day. Clips, magazines,
newspapers, and other hardcopy material keeps rolling in and
while there is always someone who knows where something is you
often have to depend on the presence of these living data-bases
to find anything. Not the best situation for a growing organization.
Especially one that depends on volunteer effort and has a tiny staff.

What we need is a full library/archive system installed in the office.

Does anyone here know of a librarian located in the Boston/Cambridge
area that might be willing to help us set up an EFF Library/Archive?
