As a computer user in the UK there are a number of issues that I have become aware of here that perhaps the EFF could assist with. I am not talking solely about the defense of computer users in the courts, but the establishment of computer users rights full stop! As you may be aware, the Data Protection Act in the UK means that any information that is kept on a Database regarding anyone in the UK is technically viewable by the individual in question. There are a number of loopholes and wherefores and whatnots, but this is in essence what the Act is for (at least, when I read it that is what I got out of it). Of course, this has meant that much of the data stored about people is stored for minimal amounts of time on a computer, lots of pieces of paper instead...the end result is that we don't get to find out what information a company or organisation has about us... So, does the EFF have any plans for the UK? If not, why not? If so, can I help? If there is a Doctrine of the EFF, a sort of "What We Do And Why We Do It" I would be interested in getting a copy.
