Well, there are misconceptions flying all around about the movement by TCA to cease broadcasting MTV. TCA has said explicitly that they were negotiating with MTV, trying to have MTV alter their programming schedule because it was morally offensive; this failed, so TCA suggested having MTV a premium channel which subscribers who wanted it would pay a bit more for .. this too failed, because such is not MTV's policy. Sure, some of the problem is economics, but a great deal of the problem exists with the imposition of moral principles from a small group to a much larger public. In town, without cable, we barely get two channels - if one watches television, there does not exist much of a choice without TCA or money for a satellite (and once again, being a college town, satellites are not too feasible for a great number of residents here). -David /* the previous message is a reflection of my own sick mind; it reflects * NOT upon my employer, or the university i attend. */
