Well to change the subject from CB/Ham debate. I am interested in
getting involved in PACKET RADIO. I understand there are 2 different
boards on the market. The GLB board which is a hardware/software
implementation of AX.25 and the TAPR board which is a true hardware
implementation. The difference is about $100 with the GLB board
being the cheaper of the two. Is there any particular reason to buy
the TAPR board over the GLB board. Has anyone had any experience
good or bad that they would like to share with the rest of the world.
Most of the information on PACKET RADIO in the ham press revolves around
the TAPR board. Is there any reason for this?
I'm sure that there are other hams, like myself, how would be interested
in getting involved with packet radio but don't want to make a mistake
and buy the wrong hardware. So lets hear from some of the "experts" in
the field.
thanks,
/bill
