Does anyone on the net know about how much a Swan VFO unit should sell for? I'm looking for one, but I'm always too late. Of the two that I almost got, they were both in good shape (or so I was told) but the prices varied greatly. One was less than $50, the other well over $100. Does anyone know where I might find one? I would like the one that attached to the Swan 500C, I'm told there were three different models for the 500. There was a 4xx number VFO that had both the VOX and the VFO in one box, which would be real nice. I have the VOX unit now, but it attaches to the back of the unit where it is very difficult to adjust. I set it for a real slow semi-break-in on CW. The unit that is in the 500C owners manual is the 508. It is a VFO unit only. Both units that I was too late for were 508's. I've looked into building one, which I may have to do, but the Swan 500C doesn't use a fixed VFO. Each band is different. There is one fixed mixing frequency in the main unit and the VFO changes bands. Not that difficult, but there is always the appeal of the factory unit. mikey at trsvax KA5MJQ
