A while back there was a discussion about how slow Word for PM was on
some systems. There are two ways to speed Word up. Both have to do with
re-writing the PMWORD.INI file.

The quickest way (and easiest, although maybe not the best) is to choose
"File" from within Word. From there select "Printer Setup" and click on
OK. This will fix your problem, BUT you may not have access to all your
fonts. If this is the case use method 2.

Method 2 is quite easy as well. Delete (or rename PMWORD.INI). From the
control panel, make sure that you have all the fonts you want installed.
Run WORD. You should be prompted for your name. Word will then create a
new PMWORD.INI file, which should work.

I sent the problem to MS about 10 days ago, but they still haven't worked
out the cause, although they do know about it.

I've tried W4W and I'll never switch from Word 5.5 until W4W has W5.5
support for Style Sheets. W4W is a step back, not forward, without
it.
