There are at least two ways to select text in a Textedit window, pass it through a filter, and have the output replace the original text (the extras menu, or the function key mapping stuff). However, in either case the only filters that seem to work are non- interactive filters, that don't create a new window. If the filter creates a new window, the original text gets deselected, and the output of the filter does not replace the original text. The filter does get the selected text as input, it just the output that is the problem. Does anyone understand what's going on, and/or have a way to work around this? -- Ken Mandelberg | km@mathcs.emory.edu PREFERRED Emory University | {rutgers, gatech}!emory!km UUCP Dept of Math and CS | km@emory.bitnet NON-DOMAIN BITNET Atlanta, GA 30322 | Phone: Voice (404) 727-7963, FAX 727-5611
