I need to know how to dump a standard - raw - midi file from my ST to my Kawai. I have been making a lot to do about this everywhere I can and have come up with much of nothing. I will be trying to write a little program to do this in either standard atari basic, or in pascal. Also, so that I may not fall into this delimma again, can anyone recommend a good reference book for the st that any book store might be able to order up for me? swood -- OK, who farted? | swood@vela.acs.oakland.edu When you see Scott coming, | swood@vela.acs.oakland.edu you can just sense trouble | swood@nucleus.mi.org The Notorious Tre' | Scott Webster Wood

You have a few problems right off.
First, a standard midi file is sequencer data and I don't know of a
kawai that has a sequencer.
Second, I'll presume that what you really want is a bulk dump, (all
patches uploaded). The kawai's that I'm familier with have no bulk
dump in the familiar sense. Instead, they send a patch at a time and
expect the uploading side to send a kawai sysex "ACK" packet. To see
if this is really your problem, try uploading just one "single" patch.
