For those of you interested in the answer to the question "Is it possible to connect a drive (MFM or RLL) to an embedded controller on a SCSI drive without adding some extra hardware?" the answer is no. You must get at least an MFM-to-SCSI controller which, one person told me, costs around $150. Or, from my experience, you need an Adaptec or OMTI controller to connect to the host adapter. Therefore, the cost, sans drive mech, would be around $100 for the Adaptec or OMTI controller. If anyone knows anything different than this, please post it to the net because there are other people on here that are interested.
