My 1040 recently developed an ailment. It boots just fine but after several minutes it locks up. Hitting reset changes resolution from med to low and garbages the display. The data appears to be the original prior to the reset but in low res. A power cycle (30 sec wait) results in a white screen. After sitting for 10 to 15 minutes it will reboot leading me to believe it is a heat related problem. This was confirmed the next night when I broke out the blow drier and aimed it thru the louvers. In a minute or so it reboots and runs for hours. This worked for several evenings without new problems until last night when I popped in a different disk and hit esc. Now I had a disk directory with duplicate (completely identical) file names and other file names missing. Several esc's didn't change the display. After inseting several other disks that displayed correctly, the problem disk showed the correct contents. Any suggestion as to what part(s) to suspect?
