[comp.sys.atari.st.tech] ST DMA to SCSI

rdt154k@monu6.cc.monash.edu.au (mr n benci) (10/22/90)

Maybe some one out there can help me on this.

How do these STDMA to SCSI adapter boards really work. I have seen a few
and it all looks so trivial but without any info on the ST DMA port I cannot
work out how its all done. The best that I have seen so far are the BMS200
which really does seem to support the full (well almost) SCSI (I) command
set and the new ICD adapter which is so small, you plug it onto the back
of a SCSI drive. These two boards don't have all that much on board. So
if its legally possible to disclose such info (which iI think it is) could
some kind soul kindly enlighten me as to what is actually done. I would like
to try it as a hardware project and hopefully get somewhere.

Thanks in advance.
