[comp.sys.atari.st.tech] Scolling lists in GEM

adp@csug.cs.reading.ac.uk (David Dawkins) (11/09/90)

Hi there folks.
Just a few questions on some bits and pieces that I need some help with..
(Please)

1. I am currently learning GEM, and want to know how one implements a
scrolling list, as in the file selector. I would be extremely grateful
for any help here.

2. I also asked recently for any help with hard disk set-ups - one chap
replied and said "Not enough info..", so here goes.

520 STFM (to be upgraded to 2.5 MB in a week)
48 MB Triangle Turbo 3 HD
	Star LC 24-10 Printer
	Mono monitor

	I (mainly) use :
	Gulam
Sozobon C ( and want to use gcc after memory upgrade )
FirstWord (well, it does the job..)

I may use Gemini, Neodesk or my own shell using MiNT.(dunno yet)

All I want is some suggestions for useful (and sensible ) partitioning
	and directory structures. Ta.

3. When I write my shell using MiNT, I want to use XARGS, but I dont know
the standard implementation details - I guess I mean the standard format.
Can anyone help me here ?

Thanks in advance,
( I saw some guy write 'thaADVANCEnks' - isn't that the wrong way round ? )
