Just a simple question after I put out the system specs: Atari Stacy4 running Mint06 off a D: partition. How can I get MGR to open a window? All I get is "Can't get a PTY" when I try this. I didn't see anything in the docs on creating them. Make sure the SHELL environment variable is set correctly. If it still doesn't work, press CTRL-ALT-F1 before trying to create the window; the resulting trace output will likely tell you what's wrong. (This is something that should have been emphasized in the MiNT documentation; CTRL-ALT-F1 is *very* useful for tracking down mysterious program failures. Pressing the key once gets reports of failed system calls; pressing it twice gets a trace of all system calls. Use CTRL-ALT-F2 to cancel the tracing.) -- Eric R.
