I've got a couple of questions about Hard-drives and the Mega 2 ST. The DMA port on the back of my Mega is a 19 pin parallel type connector. I've no idea how hard-disks work having no experience with them, but I have heard that most standard SCSI controllers have a 40 or 44 pin connector. Is this true? If so, is there some special type of controller I would have to invest in to get a HD to work on my machine? Who makes the MegaFile drives and are they reliable (like Quantum drives)? Etc and any other info you think I might need to know... Thanks for any and all help. -- Brian Grave bgrave@ub.d.umn.edu "I bought some powdered water but I don't know what to add..." - Steven Wright

So long as you have a Mega and want a hard drive, I would recommend buying an ICD AdSCSI Micro Adapter and a 3.5" SCSI hard drive. The Mega has an internal DMA port for the cable of the AdSCSI Micro to connect to, the AdSCSI Micro itself plugs into the hard drive, the hard drive is placed into the provided bracket that mounts to the existing hole in the Mega motherboard. The Mega motherboard also has an unused power connector for the hard drive to plug into. I would also recommend using a Conner or Quantum hard drives. I am using a Conner CP3100 and am quite happy with it. Bye..........
