[comp.sys.atari.st.tech] PC Ditto

news@efd.lth.se (USENET News System) (02/07/91)

I seem to have a problem installing PC-Ditto on my Megafile30+Mega2ST
system. I have done it earlier at a 20 MB HD and it worked OK, but I just
cant get it to accept that the dos file exists on the megafile30. When I
start PC-ditto (whith PCDOS 3.2 on the HD) it just locks up! (By the way,
YES I have read the manual (see above) ). I have also used the program
on the PC-Ditto disk to fix the boot block parameters (I know that they
dont say that you should use it on a mega30, but if I dont, I just get
"divide overflow"). My DOS bootdisk contains exactly the same PRG:s and
works perfectly, finding my C,D,E,F partions with no problems. When I
transfer them to my newly formatted HD (First formatted from GEM, then
from PC-ditto with"format C:/S"), nothing works (No, i doesnt transter the
Command.com from the boot disk either!)
Please EMAIL me about this!

	Hi Andreas and David,
I have also had the same problem on Megafile 30's; but not on
my SH205 (Megafile 20 before Atari change the name), the SH205 is modified
though. I replaced the 20m mechanism in the SH205 with a 40m mechanism (which
Atari's HDX does not support), so I am using Supra's HD Utilities. Also on my
Mega I installed an internal HD with ICD's AdSCSI Micro Adapter, I installed
PC-DOS on it also with no problems.
I believe I heard a rumor that Atari HDX is incompatible with PC-DOS
for some bizarre reason. You may want to try a 3rd party HD driver .SYS on
your Megafile 30, you should backup your C:\ partition first though. Bye....

I use IBM Dos, and as i said, it works on my old SH205 20MB HD (unfortunatly
I have sold it to afford the megafile 30)
