It was mentioned in passing a few months ago that certain old 520STs has a limit as to the amount of memory that they could access (that is less than the normal 4meg limit) and that these MMUs could be identified by their chip numbers. Does anyone out there know which chips had this problem? Can anyone at Atari (Alan Pratt?) comment on this? I just want to make sure that when I go to put together a home-brew simm-upgrade for my 520ST, it will actually have a chance of working...:) -Mike

RE: Which MMU's can go to 4 megs. From the ZRAM upgrade docs: If your machine's MMU has a part number of: CO25912-38 it WILL handle a memory upgrade. I don't remember the number of the bad MMU. If you need a new one both B&C Computervisions and Best Electronics (Both located in CA, I believe) have them in the $25-$35 range. I bought one from B&C and it works. -- /**************************************************************************/ /* Kent Dalton * EMail: Kent.Dalton@FtCollins.NCR.COM */ /* NCR Microelectronics * CIS: 72320,3306 */ /* 2001 Danfield Ct. A: Because it was on the other side.
