First I must thank all these people helping me in this matter. It seems that I drew some issue from the bottom of every hard disk owner's mind with my humble question about the bad sector format... But... I didn't reach any further about the actual format of these sectors. What I really wanted was a little hint about what to do to find these bad sectors (actually, they aren't hard to find, I have already spotted one or two just by putting things in them) and how to mark them. A solution to this problem of mine is to read (and then write) to each and every sector, spot the bad ones (via BIOS's rwabs function) and then mark them. Perhaps one need to check every sector one or two times but that is not a problem. HOW to mark them is still a mystery to me... Well, not really. I just need the format of the bad.list. While I'm on the go: Please send me your formatterprograms (that are PD) and any other utility that might be useful (such as backupprogs and such). I'd be very grateful. Thank you all, again.
