Ok I need some advice/help from you guys. My ST makes a rather horrid buzzing noise when I turn it on. The noise keeps on going for a few seconds when I turn it off. Nothing else happens (no boot-up from floopy, nothing on screen - dead). The noise seems to be coming from where the power lead plugs in to the ST. Ok no prize for telling me the power supply unit is knackered, but if that is so can I fix it my self, and if so, how? I can't get it repaired on the guarantee as I think I voided that by adding 2MB RAM to the machine. Thanks for any help. Dave -- +---------------------+ | C. David Elliott | 'Eccles! Dave ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I would seriously consider getting a new power supply. I had the same problem that your having now, the cause is your memory upgrade is sucking more juice than your power supply can handle. Try calling BEST electronics, and get a new power supply. That should do the trick. --Gregory
