qst de k9eui hr arrl bulletin nr 8 from arrl headquarters newington ct february 1, 1985, to all radio amateurs bt fcc has released a notice of proposed rulemaking concerning frequency allocations for the amateur service. the nprm is designated pr docket 85 23. the nprm proposes to bring the microwave spectrum allocation sections of part 97 into line with the frequency allocations made at warc 79 for the amateur service. the docket also proposes to list the frequencies 1900 to 2000 khz separately from 1800 to 1900 khz, so that part 97 of the rules will be in harmony with part 2, where the segments are already listed separately. the docket points out that some frequencies are shared by different services in different itu regions, in order to protect everyone, including the amateur service, from interference. the docket seeks to clarify amateur status on some bands above 450 mhz, and to add new microwavd frequencies to the amateur service and amateur satellite service, including some frequencies in the 1.2 ghz band for mode l satellite operation. comments are due by march 11, 1985, and reply comments are due by march 26, 1985. details will appear in the arrl letter and qst ar
