[comp.sys.atari.st.tech] Trap #2 - Any documentation???

ant@mks.com (Anthony Howe) (05/21/91)

People are talkiing about TRAP #2 (BDOS). However I presume that there
was never any Developer Documentation on this facility meaning - HANDS OFF!!
Now people seem to be playing with it. Even Sozobon C has a bdos() but for
what I don't know.

Does anyone have any documentation hard or soft on TRAP #2 that they can
send me.

PS. Has there been an update to the DevDocs from Atari that I'm not aware
of. Buddha forbid that Atari Canada should notify its registered
developers of anything new. How about updates to jewels like MadMac, Db, or
Aln.

I bought a Developers' Kit some years ago when I had TOS 1.2, but when
I bought TOS 1.4 last year, I just tried to read the undocumented (in
my outdated kit) system calls using a disassembler. As far as bdos is
concerned, I thought it was rather easy to decode. There are new bios
calls etc. as is often mentioned on this net.

Hmm, you should contact atari and get reregistered. It would cost you
something around $75 for the updated docs.. I am not sure what the current
pricing is however.

I am registered developer and I haven't heard squat about any updates
since TOS 1.4 and SALAD. Hell, I had to ask for the TOS 1.4 notes from
Atari Canada which turned out to be photo copies of reduced photo copies
which are so blurred that I have trouble reading them with a magnifying
glass.

I would love to know if there has been a full documentation update
since TOS 1.4 that also includes information on TRAP #2 and all the
other extras that have been been coming down the net from time to time.

Allan or Ken, do either of you have any comment on the current state
of the developer package? I feel alone up here in the north country
and Atari Canada is only one hour east of Waterloo yet they never
seem to have mail-outs or current information when I phone.
