Net readers who are also radio hams may be interested in knowing
that there is a Ham Torah Net called Mesivta D'Rakia (Heavenly
Academy) which meets to study Mishna and Halacha on 3.825 Mhz
daily (except shabbos) at 8:30 PM EST. The "Rosh Mesivta" is
Rabbi Yitzchok Sokol (KA2B) in Lakewood New Jersey. The
radio dimension adds alot to the discussions which are
usually very friendly and stimulating. There are active
and passive (no Ham license required to recieve)
participants around the continent, and some silent listeners in
Russia. This has been going on for several years and
features special guest appearances from Torah personalities
and festive get-togethers.
Another communications medium for Torah study is the telephone.
Dial-a-Daf programs exist in major cities for studying a page of
Talmud a day at a time.
Rabbi Sokol (who is also a master technician) has installed
various dial-up Torah-tape classes in Lakewood, and Dial-a-Daf
equipment in other cities.
Anyone interested in these activities, or in help or advice in
setting up ANY type of media classes is invited to contact him:
